Robert Perkins is a multitalented musician based in Asheboro, North Carolina . He and Alton Elliott formed the vocal duet Original Formula in 1992.The duo features Robert Perkins on lead guitar and vocals and Alton Elliott on rhythm guitar and vocals . Original Formula is known as a Gospel,Blue Grass, Country duet. Their authentic acoustic guitar sound is displayed on their recordings released on their own label, Melody Man Records. Together they have written over 200 songs. The acoustic guitars owned by Original Formula include a 1931 Martin OM-18 and a custom made Gibson Nick Lucas Elite Custom. There are seven classic guitars in the collection. Robert Perkins has produced a study and tribute to the famous crooner Nick Lucas who introduced the song, 'Tip Toe Thru The Tulips' in the 1929 movie, 'Gold Diggers Of Broadway'.In 2005 Perkins acquired all of the Nick Lucas recordings that were released on Accent Records.
